What is Mineral Makeup? TOP
Mineral Makeup is made from naturally occuring crushed minerals, usually zinc oxide, iron oxides and mica. These loose minerals are combined together in different quantities to make a vareity of mineral makeup powder formulations, such as foundations, finishing powders, concealers, blushers, bronzers, and eye shadows.
The minerals titanuim dioxide and zinc oxide in particular, act as a natural sunblock, effectivley filtering UVA and UVB rays that can deliver sun protection of up to SPF 20 (we are not allowed to give a specific rating due to FDA regulations) How is Mineral Makeup different from other makeup, such as liquid foundations and pressed powders? TOP
Mineral makeup is free of irritants like perfumes, preservatives (such as parabens), alcohols and dyes. Many traditional makeup brands use synthetic FD&C dyes in their products - however, these dyes have been identified as the one of the leading causes of allergic reactions in makeup. Most mineral makeup lines do not use synthetic dyes, instead, the colors are derived from naturally-occurring iron oxide pigments. All this makes mineral makeup very suitable for people with sensitive skin.
Designer and supermarket makeup brands outsource mostly all of their production overseas to save as much money as possible. But do they pass the savings on to you? No. Does this make for a better product? Absolutely not.
Radiant Minerals is made in the United States and will never make you over pay for high quality.

Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl urea, Butyl paraben, Methyl paraben, Ethyl paraben, Stearic acid, Octyl stearate, Isopropyl palmitate, Cetyl palmitate, Petrolatum, Triethanolamine, BHT - Butylene Hydroxy toluene, Ascorbyl palmitate, Ascorbic acid BHA - Butylene Hydroxy Anisol, Propylene Glycol...(did you know that Propylene Glycol and anti-freeze are the same thing?) And this is just to name a few.
Radiant Minerals Foundation has only 5 all natural ingredients:
Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Zinc Oxide, Kaolin Clay.

What does non-comedogenic mean? TOP
Non-comedogenic means that your Radiant Minerals mineral makeup will not clog your pores. Therefore, wearing Radiant Minerals will never cause skin blemishes! I have sensitive skin. Can I use Mineral Makeup? TOP
Yes! You can! As mentioned in the previous question, since mineral makeup is free from irritants, preservatives, alcohols and dyes, you can use mineral makeup with a sense of ease! However, not all mineral makeup lines are completely free of chemical irritants. Some brands use the bismuth oxychloride, which can be very irritating on the skin. Bismuth oxychloride is a mineral that is used in some major mineral makeup lines because it imparts a shimmery look to their makeup, and is a cheap filler. Bismuth oxychloride is also heavy, hence the need to 'buff' or force it into your skin. Mineral makeup lines that do not use bismuth oxychloride tend to be lighter in texture and easier to apply. Radiant Minerals does not use Bismuth Oxychloride in our mineral makeup.
I have acne. Can I use Mineral Makeup without further aggravating my skin? TOP
Mineral makeup can also be good for acne sufferers. By its very nature, mineral cosmetics are non-comedogenic, oil-free, anti-inflammatory and cannot harbor bacteria, which means that acne blemishes can be covered or concealed without further aggravating them. Mineral makeup will not necessarily cure acne, but skin has a much better chance of healing while wearing it, compared to traditional makeup. Radiant Minerals also contains Kaolin Clay, which helps heal acne.
Do you use Talc in your minerals? TOP
Radiant Minerals is adamant about avoiding talc in our products. Crucially, mineral makeup avoids the use of talc, a known carcinogen found in a lot of traditional makeup. There are also no petrochemicals or coal-derived ingredients, common in a lot of traditional makeup. As you can see, the ingredient listing in say, a mineral foundation is much shorter compared to a traditional liquid foundation.
UV ray protection is important to me. Does this mineral makeup have SPF? If so, how much? TOP
All Radiant Minerals has a natural skin protection. We are not allowed to claim any SPF rating due to FDA guidelines. What is the shelf life of Radiant Minerals? TOP
Simply put - forever. Radiant Minerals is completely 100% inert, which means it cannot harbor any bacteria. You don't need to worry about this makeup causing breakouts like you do designer or supermarket brands. Plus since Radiant Minerals cannot harbor bacteria it will last forever!
Now, even though your Radiant Minerals will last forever, we do recommend that you replace your product after a year and ALWAYS keep your makeup brushes clean!
Your Finishing Dust is good for 2 years as long as you do not get it wet. Since it is 100% completely organic adding water will cause bacteria to form. If your finishing dust gets wet please discard. Does Radiant Minerals really last all day? And does it really have enough coverage? TOP

The complete line of mineral powder cosmetics is mineral-based, which means that all of the ingredients come from rocks! What this means to a vegan consumer is that our complete line of mineral foundation, mineral blush, mineral bronzers, setting powders, illuminzers and matte and shimmer shadows are vegan. This offers a wide range of products from which to choose, and the mineral powders can be mixed into a vegan gloss to create a colored gloss. They can also be used with non-animal tested clear polish to create a colored nail polish. Additionally, the shadows can be wetted and used as eyeliners! I see Radiant Minerals has signed the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. What does this mean? TOP
